Serving Eugene’s Poor and Homeless in a Franciscan Spirit.

The Eugene Catholic Worker is a small community of people working alongside Catholic Worker communities throughout the country to change the world. Our consistent goal is to live out the works of mercy described by Jesus in the beatitudes. We work in the tradition of Catholic Worker founders Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin and in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi. We strive to be servants of the poor while living in solidarity through prayer, voluntary poverty, hospitality, and a spirit of nonviolence.
Today, approximately 250 Catholic Worker communities worldwide are committed to provide services to the homeless, exiled, hungry and forsaken. Catholic Workers continue to voice concerns over injustice, war, racism, and violence in all forms.
